If an attractive man doesn’t wear his ring, women only know is that he’s alpha–they don’t know if he has committed previously. Most don’t ask if he’s married (and don’t want to know any status that might hinder having sex with him). So, it actually presents less risk for a man to not wear his ring when he’s out socially. Unscrupulous (hypergamous) women tend to be less aggressive if a married man isn’t wearing his ring.
So, all of you wives who think that you want your husband to wear his ring when he’s out socially without you–better think again.

O: to answer your question about “she’s so nice”, perhaps think of this. When a guy is single, most people think he is out there hitting on women, or trying. Women know how hard it is to approach, even of they won’t admit it openly, and view any type of setting up a form of benevolence. In other words, they think they are helping a brotha out ( pun intended ;-) lol ). So when you weren’t into her, they view that as being picky, and being picky is reserved just for women. Regardless of whether you ask for it or not, irrelevant to them.
For TL;DRer’s, Most women , in my experience, assume that a guy that isn’t in that top percentile that have women throwing themselves at him, is going to be more willing to adjust his attractiveness threshold. Especially if some of the leg work is already done for him. Add in that it gives some women a sense of pride to play match maker to some aspect, and it’s a win win. Just a thought
